How to Join the CHIPS Protocol IDO on Polkastarter

A Step-by-Step Guide to Prepare for the CHIPS Protocol IDO on Polkastarter

Step 1: Prepare Your Wallet

To get the best experience on Polkastarter, we suggest connecting through MetaMask on desktop. It’s the most reliable option for a smooth, hassle-free sale. Other desktop wallets can work too, but MetaMask usually delivers the most consistent results.

Make sure you have enough BNB to cover both your purchase amount and the network fees. Fees on BNB Chain are typically very low, often just a few cents, but we recommend to keep at least a few extra dollars’ worth of BNB in your wallet to ensure your transactions go through without delay.

Cryptocurrency prices can move quickly, so it is wise to keep a buffer of around 10–20% above the amount you plan to invest. For example, if your allocation is $200, aim to have $220–240 worth of crypto in your wallet to cover any price changes.

You can see the CHIPS Protocol IDO directly on the Projects page. Each listing includes an icon showing the network where the sale is taking place, with BSC being the network for $CHIPS.

If you are unsure how to get funds onto BNB Smart Chain, you can use a trusted bridge. Keep in mind that after bridging, you will still need to swap the bridged asset into BNB to participate. For example, if you bridge ETH to BSC, you must exchange it for BNB.

Here are some recommended bridges:

  • Official Binance Bridge 2.0 (ETH ⇄ BSC)

  • Connext Bridge (multi-chain support)

Step 2: Verify Your Allowlist Status

You can now check your allowlist status directly from the Dashboard. Just select “Dashboard” from the top menu to view all the projects you’ve applied to in one place. You can also go to the “Projects” page, click on a specific project, and see your status there.

Once your status shows as allowlisted on either the Dashboard or the Project page, you’re all set to join the sale when it begins at Monday August 11.

The Guaranteed Round is at 09:00 UTC and the FCFS Round begins at 13:00 UTC.

Step 3: Prepare for the Token Sale

On IDO day, go to the official CHIPS Protocol IDO page. You may see a Captcha prompt when you arrive, but this is completely normal. We recommend getting on the site 5–10 minutes before the sale begins so you have time to prepare your wallet and confirm access. Some IDOs sell out within minutes, so being early can make all the difference.

While you wait, connect your MetaMask wallet and confirm that it is set to BNB Chain. Being on the correct network ensures your transactions go through smoothly when the sale begins.

Step 4: Join the Sale

When the countdown reaches zero, the page will refresh automatically. If you are allowlisted, a Join button will appear. Click it to go to the contribution page and connect through MetaMask.

Before participating, you will need to accept a disclaimer. Once accepted, you can enter the amount you want to contribute or simply use the MAX button to commit your full available balance.

Once the transaction is confirmed on the blockchain, you have successfully secured your tokens, they just need to be claimed.

Step 5: CLAIM YOUR TOKENS!

A minute or two after your transaction is confirmed, the Portfolio page will update to show that you’ve successfully joined the sale. It should look something like this:

Access Portfolio page

Claim once the tokens are available

Once the sale ends and tokens have been distributed, you can return to the page to claim your tokens and you’re all set!
